CAF President Patrice Motsepe has put an end to rumors suggesting a possible postponement of the next Africa Cup of Nations 2027. He confirmed in an official statement following an Executive Committee meeting that the tournament will be held as scheduled in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Motsepe also announced a plan to increase the number of participating teams from 24 to 28. He stated that the proposal is currently under technical and financial review, and no official date has been set for implementing the new format, with the goal being to enhance continental competitiveness. “There will be more development in the Africa Cup of Nations in the upcoming editions,” he added. The next Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to take place from June 19 to July 18, 2027.
