South Africa Presents Evidence of Genocide to ICJ

The Republic of South Africa presented evidence of "genocide" to the International Court...

Representatives of the Republic of South Africa appealed to the International Court with accusations of "genocide" and presented corroborating evidence. During the presentation, lawyers provided facts that testified to violations of human rights, which, in their opinion, could be equated to genocide. The accused side asserts that there are serious grounds to consider the situation in the country in such a way that justifies the decision to appeal to the international court for the consideration of the case.

"We have a case not only with the violation of human rights, but also with its most severe form, when genocide is a consequence of systematic policies and strategies directed against a specific group of people," noted the representatives of South Africa.

They also added that similar actions should be prosecuted and those responsible held accountable to prevent the recurrence of such offenses in the future.
